In the 10th minute Túlio Maravilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Erasto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Froilan Olivar during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 15th match minute, La Candela FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Froilan Olivar to maneuver through the defense. Froilan Olivar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Leonardo Paz made a huge save. Froilan Olivar kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. Angel Taurinos short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Leonardo Paz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Angel Taurino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Leonardo Paz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Túlio Maravilha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pablo Erasto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pablo Erasto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Túlio Maravilha went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to La Candela FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Angel Taurino hit a great ball. When Túlio Maravilha fell near the penalty area in the 45th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Palmares Futebol Clube's protests and gave Túlio Maravilha a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Palmares Futebol Clube getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Túlio Maravilha hit a great ball. Benigno Ricart sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Túlio Maravilha got free with Pablo Erasto in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ricardo Barreto's late challenge caught a La Candela FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ricardo Barreto helped the player get up and apologised. Palmares Futebol Clube made a substitution. João Carlos Antunes replaced Jarbas Porto. With a little luck, La Candela FC's Pablo Erasto got control of the ball when Thomás Maia tried to sneak it across the goal line.
