The referee ignored Leão de Judá's protests and gave Tarcisio de Toledo a yellow card for diving instead. Tarcisio de Toledo hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. Costin Brașoveanu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but José Paulo Brito read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the game, bullfinches's Edgar Ţopescu nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Paulo Brito made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Aristide Crivac came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the bullfinches fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aristide Crivac couldn't finish the play. If Sebastião de Sena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to bullfinches getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Petru Văidianu hit a great ball. Arlindo Breckenfeld could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Nistor Sfetcu made a huge save. After 21 played minutes Leão de Judá got a freekick which was hit by Laércio Cardoso. 30 minutes into the match, Leão de Judá's goal looked a bit too open when Olimpiu Pantiș came free, but José Paulo Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nistor Sfetcu made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Arlindo Breckenfeld sent off a good shot on target. Edgar Ţopescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. José Paulo Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Pantiș, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 42nd minute, Maurício Marques hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Ţopescu during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 43 played minutes bullfinches got a freekick which was hit by Edgar Ţopescu. After the first half bullfinches were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Aristide Crivac to make the kick off. Aristide Crivac struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. José Paulo Brito didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for bullfinches. 54 minutes into the match, Edgar Ţopescu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of José Paulo Brito. Leão de Judá's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edgar Ţopescu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. The supporters of bullfinches booed when Leão de Judá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maurício Marques didn't get a good kick on the ball. José Paulo Brito made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Edgar Ţopescu sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aristide Crivac in the 61st minute of play forced Leão de Judá's goalkeeper José Paulo Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Leão de Judá's José Paulo Brito got control of the ball when Edgar Ţopescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of bullfinches booed when Leão de Judá was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Leão de Judá's José Paulo Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgar Ţopescu in the 78th minute of play. After 78 played minutes Leão de Judá got a freekick which was hit by Maurício Marques. In the 79th minute of the match Costin Brașoveanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Paulo Brito showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. José Paulo Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Ţopescu in the 80th minute of the match. 81 minutes into the game, Costică Glăvan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. José Paulo Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The crowd rose to their feet as Cornel Cudalb kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving José Paulo Brito. That made the score 0-5 in the 87 minute of play. Leão de Judá's José Paulo Brito proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Leão de Judá from getting a goal against them. 94 minutes into the match, Leão de Judá's goal looked a bit too open when Aristide Crivac came free, but José Paulo Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. bullfinches played a much better game than Leão de Judá and deserved their victory. The Leão de Judá players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
