Andrézinho Tasso took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dejan Cumbo. Dejan Cumbo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. In the 13th minute Franklin Fonseca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dejan Cumbo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 14 minutes into the match, Catadão's goal looked a bit too open when Timothy Cini came free, but Renan Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Catadão's Sandro Tróia in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Renan Mendonça made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Louis Mamo in the 39th minute of play. The supporters of Seraċini Għawdxin booed when Catadão was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian da Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute, Louis Mamo made a precise shot to the right of Renan Mendonça. Catadão's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Renan Mendonça stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Louis Mamo's shot from short distance in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Louis Mamo was the one to do the kick off. Seraċini Għawdxin's Dejan Cumbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Franklin Fonseca in the 53rd minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Andrézinho Tasso cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Dejan Cumbo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Franklin Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 62 played minutes Catadão got a freekick which was hit by Andrézinho Tasso. 74 minutes into the match, Catadão's goal looked a bit too open when Mark De Battista came free, but Renan Mendonça reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Seraċini Għawdxin's Clayton Vella got a free kick in the 96th minute. The Seraċini Għawdxin supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Seraċini Għawdxin would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
