The audience was convinced that Carlos Julienne's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julen Planes was relentless in the 4th minute of the game. In the 8th minute, Carlos Julienne ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julen Planes was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Deus Ex Machina's Jérémie Millier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orti Machado in the 10th minute of play. Jérémie Millier made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Amat Maldonado sent off a good shot on target. Jérémie Millier came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Real Club Celta de Vigo's Amat Maldonado. But to his dismay, Amat Maldonado quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 23 minutes into the match, Real Club Celta de Vigo's Jorge De Pedro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jérémie Millier narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sylvain Chiffoleau in the 25th minute of play forced Real Club Celta de Vigo's goalkeeper Julen Planes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jérémie Millier took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orti Machado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Deus Ex Machina's Jérémie Millier got control of the ball when Jorge De Pedro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jérémie Millier made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Micael Castelao sent off a good shot on target. In the 32nd minute Jorge De Pedro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jérémie Millier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Deus Ex Machina got a corner. Real Club Celta de Vigo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Malik Boulic ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Deus Ex Machina's Malik Boulic to fire away a dangerous shot which Julen Planes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Moïse Hauser hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the game, Just Bazoge was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Deus Ex Machina's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Club Celta de Vigo the free kick. In the 47th match minute, Deus Ex Machina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Just Bazoge to maneuver through the defense. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Carlos Julienne to make the kick off. Sylvain Chiffoleau's late challenge caught a Real Club Celta de Vigo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sylvain Chiffoleau helped the player get up and apologised. In the 51st minute, Sylvain Chiffoleau hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Real Club Celta de Vigo booed when Deus Ex Machina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christophe Pérennou didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 58th minute, Micael Castelao ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jérémie Millier was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. 61 minutes into the game, Real Club Celta de Vigo's Orti Machado nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jérémie Millier made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. When the match had gone on for 65 minutes, Jorge De Pedro put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jérémie Millier. After 70 minutes of play Deus Ex Machina's Sylvain Chiffoleau was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Deus Ex Machina's Sylvain Chiffoleau got a free kick in the 70th minute. 73 minutes into the game, Orti Machado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-1. Jérémie Millier was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Ximo Vicente fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Real Club Celta de Vigo's protests and gave Ximo Vicente a yellow card for diving instead. After 77 played minutes Real Club Celta de Vigo got a freekick which was hit by Ximo Vicente. Jérémie Millier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orti Machado in the 85th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jorge De Pedro in the 96th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jérémie Millier prevented the ball from getting in the gole. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real Club Celta de Vigo fully deserved thier win.
