The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 3 played minutes Stoke FF got a freekick which was hit by Emil Fanström. Måns Fanström took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Victorio Tanio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the game, Humberto Clodio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Atletico Lanus's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stoke FF the free kick. The referee gave Stoke FF a penalty, 9 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Jens-Ove Lööf, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Club Atletico Lanus's Astor Teofilio. 1-0. Måns Fanström came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Atletico Lanus's Andres Gaizkine. But to his dismay, Andres Gaizkine quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. 19 minutes into the match, Stoke FF's goal looked a bit too open when Andres Gaizkine came free, but Måns Fanström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 20 minutes into the match, Stoke FF's goal looked a bit too open when Juan Olando came free, but Måns Fanström reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Andres Gaizkine made a precise shot to the right of Måns Fanström. Stoke FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After 31 minutes, Emil Fanström mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Stoke FF and the Club Atletico Lanus players grew even worse after the yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Juan Olando in the 35th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Måns Fanström prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute, Victorio Tanio made a precise shot to the right of Måns Fanström. Stoke FF's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-6. Måns Fanström made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Juan Olando in the 42nd minute of play. Stoke FF's Ragnar Blom got a good chance for a goal in the 44th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Emil Fanström managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stoke FF's supporters rose to their feet, but Emil Fanström was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Astor Teofilio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The Stoke FF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Club Atletico Lanus were winning 1-6.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Andres Gaizkine stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Måns Fanström stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Andres Gaizkine's shot from short distance in the 52nd minute. With splendid footwork Andres Gaizkine arrived in front of goal to shoot 1-7 by the left pole in the game's 53rd minute. 58 minutes into the match, Stoke FF's goalkeeper Måns Fanström had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Juan Olando. In the 59th minute, Stoke FF's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Victorio Tanio fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Måns Fanström made a fantastic save in the 64th minute, when Juan Olando sent off a good shot on target. Jonny Julin kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Måns Fanström made an important save on a dangerous shot by Juan Olando in the 68th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Abascal in the 70th minute of play forced Stoke FF's goalkeeper Måns Fanström to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Per-Arne Åkesson charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Per-Arne Åkesson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 72nd match minute, Stoke FF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Per-Arne Åkesson to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Isidoro Torres's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Måns Fanström was relentless in the 74th minute of the game. In the 75th minute Ragnar Blom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Astor Teofilio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Club Atletico Lanus's Astor Teofilio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emil Fanström in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Club Atletico Lanus's goal looked a bit too open when Ragnar Blom came free, but Astor Teofilio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonny Julin hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When the match was over Club Atletico Lanus could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Stoke FF throughout the match.
