The corner led Perthes United's Steve Vauchel to fire away a dangerous shot which Kamal Habib despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The Lucky Star fans' excitement grew in the 14th match minute when Lucky Star's Cucu Milo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. Kamal Habib came out of the goal and Herbert Courcelle tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 48th minute Riswan Batubara shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Moïse Mouton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Michaël Dubuis to make the kick off.
