Degerfors IF's defense didn't have a chance, in the 7th minute, when Claudinei França scored to the left of an out of position Eric Ivarsson, making the score, 2-0. GeRaÇãO-83 made a substitution. Falcão de Almeida replaced Víktor Cavalcante. With a little luck, Degerfors IF's Eric Ivarsson got control of the ball when Diguinho Mineiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rudolf Högman's late challenge caught a GeRaÇãO-83's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rudolf Högman helped the player get up and apologised. After 13 played minutes Degerfors IF got a freekick which was hit by Rudolf Högman. Tales Valladares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingvar Granberg in the 16th minute of play. Falcão de Almeida hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, GeRaÇãO-83's Joaquim Veloso got a free kick in the 28th minute. The supporters of Degerfors IF booed when GeRaÇãO-83 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luisinho Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ingvar Granberg in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tales Valladares saved GeRaÇãO-83 from getting behind. In the 35th minute, Emanuel Schmidt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37thth minute of the game Torsten Kock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GeRaÇãO-83's Tales Valladares was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ingvar Granberg in the 42nd minute of play forced GeRaÇãO-83's goalkeeper Tales Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute, Ingvar Granberg made a precise shot to the right of Tales Valladares. GeRaÇãO-83's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Falcão de Almeida to make the kick off. GeRaÇãO-83's Tales Valladares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Claes Stenman in the 53rd minute of play. Tales Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torsten Kock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lukas Örnberg struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Tales Valladares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Degerfors IF. The crowd rose to their feet as Degerfors IF's Claes Stenman slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tales Valladares. That made the score 2-2 after 66 minutes of play. 71 minutes into the match, GeRaÇãO-83's goalkeeper Tales Valladares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lukas Örnberg. Tales Valladares made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lukas Örnberg in the 78th minute. Falcão de Almeida sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tales Valladares was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Torsten Kock showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-3 in the 87 minute of play. In the 96th minute, Degerfors IF's Claes Stenman dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-4. Degerfors IF's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
