When Pär Sandström fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Polar Ice Caps's protests and gave Pär Sandström a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Polar Ice Caps getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Pär Sandström hit a great ball. After 22 played minutes, IKS Norrköping's John Enström shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ingemar Eckegren came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in IKS Norrköping reached it. Pär Sandström was shown his second yellow card after 28 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. Ingemar Eckegren was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Hampus Vallin showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-8 in the 69 minute of play. Rolf Nyman could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Ingemar Eckegren made a huge save.
