Czerwone Lwy Podjuchy's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Olof Rijaard was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olof Rijaard got free with Miroslaw Czeszejko in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 29 played minutes De Kasteelheren got a freekick which was hit by Guus Kolman. After a defensive mix-up in De Kasteelheren's zone, Antoni Lichucki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernard Mülder came out of the goal and Antoni Lichucki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leo Maradona to strike the kick off in the second half. Miroslaw Czeszejko showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erwin Lanting, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. In the 55th minute Leo Maradona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernard Mülder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When De Kasteelheren's Olof Rijaard in the 57th minute got a chance for a shot 57th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience was convinced that Erwin Lanting's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miroslaw Czeszejko was relentless in the 94th minute of the game.
