In the 10th minute of the match, Tomás Cerqueira tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Nereo Emeterio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Aristides Brochado hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gonçalo Lobo got free with Nereo Emeterio in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Nereo Emeterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Cerqueira in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute, Gonçalo Lobo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nereo Emeterio was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Nereo Emeterio made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Patrício Poças sent off a good shot on target. After 26 minutes, Angelino Markel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the El Gallo de Moron and the Garanhão do SUL players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to El Gallo de Moron getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Angelino Markel hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Patrício Poças had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nereo Emeterio. El Gallo de Moron's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Patrício Poças was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Nereo Emeterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomás Cerqueira in the 32nd minute of play. Patrício Poças took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nereo Emeterio. Nereo Emeterio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. In the 38th minute, Garanhão do SUL's Patrício Poças dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 6-0. Teofilo Gonsalve scored 6-1 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Raimundo Delgado, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Angelino Markel was the one to do the kick off. Raimundo Delgado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Angelino Markel in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Conde in the 54th minute of play forced El Gallo de Moron's goalkeeper Nereo Emeterio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Conde was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 85th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Nereo Emeterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Sabrosa in the 86th minute of play. After 86th play minutes Silvério Sabrosa shot 9-1, a short shot which went by Nereo Emeterio and just under the crossbar into goal. After having played for 90 minutes, Teofilo Gonsalve managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Gallo de Moron's supporters crossed their fingers, but Teofilo Gonsalve was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Nereo Emeterio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Silvério Sabrosa in the 91st minute of play. Angelino Markel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. There was no doubt that Garanhão do SUL were the better team. Garanhão do SUL's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
