Vaqueteros FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sheriff the free kick. Bonifacio Patrido kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Sheriff's Alkis Bletsas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramiro Gonza narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ramiro Gonza was a little too slow when Alkis Bletsas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 23rd minute. The score was now 2-0. A collision led to Sheriff getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Odysseas Poursanidis hit a great ball. In the 26th minute of the match Abelardo Bortzaioriz sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Stefanos Vrettos skillfully saved the ball. After 27 played minutes Vaqueteros FC got a freekick which was hit by Eugenio Cugat. After some careless play in the Vaqueteros FC defense, Grigoris Kasnakidis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ramiro Gonza. The Vaqueteros FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ramiro Gonza should have stopped the shot. 34 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's Luciano Cordario sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Stefanos Vrettos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luciano Cordario took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stefanos Vrettos. Stefanos Vrettos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Grigoris Kasnakidis took a quick shot and it went in 4-1 without a chance for Ramiro Gonza to make any attempt to save it. Ramiro Gonza didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Grigoris Kasnakidis went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

Sheriff made a substitution. Emmanouil Gialesakis replaced Odysseas Poursanidis. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Grigoris Kasnakidis stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Vaqueteros FC's Melchor Asier got a free kick in the 51st minute. 56 minutes into the match, Vaqueteros FC's goal looked a bit too open when Grigoris Kasnakidis came free, but Ramiro Gonza reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramiro Gonza was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Amador Sauveur kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Grigoris Kasnakidis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 82nd minute of the match Daniil Masourakis sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ramiro Gonza skillfully saved the ball. In the 83rd minute, Zinon Psikos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 86th minute Luciano Cordario suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Paris Loukoumakis during the 86th minute. Vaqueteros FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bonifacio Patrido was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stefanos Vrettos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Melchor Asier, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sheriff had won after a very even match.
