A collision led to Encanto getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Jerônimo Mendes hit a great ball. The supporters of Encanto booed when Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernardinho Palmeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Manuel Vianna came free, but Vinícius Macedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardinho Palmeira kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. 15 minutes into the match, Encanto's goalkeeper Eliseu Tasso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eusébio Magalhães. In the 17th minute, Encanto's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Chico de Brito fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Eliseu Tasso didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 28th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. 30 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Vicente Chaves sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Eliseu Tasso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Chicão Valle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 40th minute, Naldo Guedes reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Eliseu Tasso. The goal made the score 2-0. Chicão Valle kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's Chico de Brito slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Eliseu Tasso. That made the score 3-0 after 46 minutes of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Renatinho Linhares made the kick off in the second half. Nico Palmeira succeeded in the game's 55th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. In the 60th match minute, Cruzeiro Esporte Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardinho Palmeira to maneuver through the defense. Encanto's Eliseu Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Magalhães in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eusébio Magalhães in the 75th minute of play forced Encanto's goalkeeper Eliseu Tasso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Eliseu Tasso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Renatinho Linhares in the 76th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Renatinho Linhares in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eliseu Tasso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 83rd minute Renatinho Linhares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Tasso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Renatinho Linhares in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Eliseu Tasso saved Encanto from getting behind. Encanto's Eliseu Tasso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Renatinho Linhares in the 87th minute of play.
