In the 9thth minute of the game Mete Gol who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Montesacro Utd's Dave Africano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Atlético Capixaba booed when Montesacro Utd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Davide Anzolin didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dave Africano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mete Gol in the 12th minute of play. Fernandinho Barreto kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Acácio Figueiredo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Montesacro Utd's Davide Anzolin got a free kick in the 24th minute. Durvalino Torres might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dave Africano. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Durvalino Torres ran back to his position shaking his head. When Acácio Figueiredo came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Atlético Capixaba fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Acácio Figueiredo couldn't finish the play. Davide Scurti kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Acácio Figueiredo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 47 minutes, Mete Gol put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Dave Africano.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cesare Zarrella stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Durvalino Torres came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Atlético Capixaba fans jumped to their feet. When the match clock showed 58 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Mete Gol sped through Montesacro Utd's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dave Africano. Atlético Capixaba's Aílton Branco was substituted for Durvalino Torres. Atlético Capixaba's Fernandinho França was substituted for Acácio Figueiredo. Atlético Capixaba's Leopoldo de Amorim was substituted for Gerson Leal. Ermanno Granata lost his temper 77 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 77 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Montesacro Utd!
