The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Atletico Beirut's Khalil Hatim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mazinho Paranaense in the 24th minute of play. Khalil Hatim came out of the goal in the 27th minute to try and stop a shot by REAL VASCO RIO's Mazinho Paranaense. But to his dismay, Mazinho Paranaense quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. After 31 minutes, Khaled Sultan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atletico Beirut and the REAL VASCO RIO players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Atletico Beirut's Khaled Sultan got a free kick in the 31st minute. Rubens Marinho hit a great ball. In the 48th minute of the match Lotfi Mamdouh sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Flávio de Queiroz skillfully saved the ball. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gláuber Cardozo made a kick off. Zakour Khalif took the ball and in the 53 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Flávio de Queiroz. Flávio de Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. Mazinho Paranaense made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 57thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Khalil Hatim would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. Marcinho Velloso lost his temper 60 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Marcinho Velloso hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Atletico Beirut's Zakour Khalif got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Atletico Beirut getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Lotfi Mamdouh hit a great ball. In the 68th minute, Nasri Labib hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 69 minutes into the match, REAL VASCO RIO's Josué da Cunha sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Khalil Hatim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 71 minutes into the match, REAL VASCO RIO's goal looked a bit too open when Khalil Labib came free, but Flávio de Queiroz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Josué da Cunha who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 75thth minute tested the skills of Khalil Hatim when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 77 minutes into the match, Atletico Beirut's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Mazza came free, but Khalil Hatim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Khalil Hatim was a little too slow when Gláuber Cardozo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 79th minute. The score was now 1-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sydney Mazza in the 82nd minute of play forced Atletico Beirut's goalkeeper Khalil Hatim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute Sydney Mazza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Khalil Hatim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Josué da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Khalil Hatim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Atletico Beirut fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. REAL VASCO RIO were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
