An unexpectedly hard shot by Arthur Facciol in the 4th minute of play forced AFC Nirosxn 08's goalkeeper Emil Lunca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Nae Josan fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AFC Nirosxn 08's protests and gave Nae Josan a yellow card for diving instead. Nae Josan hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. When Sliema Dragons FC's Fabian Borg in the 9th minute got a chance for a shot 9th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye AFC Nirosxn 08's goalie prevented a goal. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Fabian Borg put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Emil Lunca. 21 minutes into the match, Sliema Dragons FC's goal looked a bit too open when George Teodoreanu came free, but Kyle Axisa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Sliema Dragons FC's Christian Scalpello got a free kick in the 26th minute. After 27 played minutes Sliema Dragons FC got a freekick which was hit by Arthur Facciol. Sliema Dragons FC's Kyle Axisa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicu Bălțăteanu in the 29th minute of play. Emil Lunca made a fantastic save in the 34th minute, when Robert Pullicino sent off a good shot on target. After 37 played minutes AFC Nirosxn 08 got a freekick which was hit by Olimpiu Şantău. Emil Lunca was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Fabian Borg. Emil Lunca took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabian Borg, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Claudiu Radovan to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of AFC Nirosxn 08 booed when Sliema Dragons FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sean Miggiani didn't get a good kick on the ball. Radu Nicolae's late challenge caught a Sliema Dragons FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Radu Nicolae helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute of the match Fabian Borg sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Emil Lunca skillfully saved the ball. Nicodim Mitrofan hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. AFC Nirosxn 08's Romeo Toma quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Sean Miggiani, made in the 70th minute of the game. A collision led to AFC Nirosxn 08 getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Eliodor Andriescu hit a great ball. 77 minutes into the match, AFC Nirosxn 08's goal looked a bit too open when Fabian Borg came free, but Emil Lunca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes into the match, Fabian Borg notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of AFC Nirosxn 08's Emil Lunca. Emil Lunca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 97 minutes into the match, AFC Nirosxn 08's goal looked a bit too open when Robert Pullicino came free, but Emil Lunca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sliema Dragons FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while AFC Nirosxn 08 had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
