The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vince Gauci stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bruce Nesbitt didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabian Borg went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. John Balzan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cyrus Crouch, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute. Bruce Nesbitt made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Vince Gauci sent off a good shot on target. In the 94th minute Russ Thorne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but John Balzan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vince Gauci sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The Cosmos Soccer Club supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Sliema Dragons FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Sliema Dragons FC.
