The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of SV Balverliefd booed when Racing Matinette was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harrie Van Den Eynden didn't get a good kick on the ball. SV Balverliefd's Ruud Windmuller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Soren Hauwaerts in the 6th minute of play. Carsten van Fessum hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. With an all-out effort, SV Balverliefd's Lucas Geijselinckx threw himself towards the right post 11 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Jos Deuring, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jos Deuring sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the match, SV Balverliefd's goal looked a bit too open when Harrie Van Den Eynden came free, but Ruud Windmuller reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 26 minutes SV Balverliefd's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Simon Enfant who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Simon Enfant got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ruud Windmuller quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. SV Balverliefd were furious when Kristian Mols was red carded, 30 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 30 minutes into the game, one of SV Balverliefd:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave Racing Matinette a penalty, 32 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Soren Hauwaerts, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SV Balverliefd's Ruud Windmuller. 0-1. Jan Alferink fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lucas Geijselinckx having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SV Balverliefd's Erwin Moes got a free kick in the 40th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harrie Van Den Eynden in the 46th minute of play forced SV Balverliefd's goalkeeper Ruud Windmuller to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ruud Windmuller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Verstuyft in the 46th minute of the match. In the 48th minute, Walter Verstuyft left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Racing Matinette fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jos Deuring stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Racing Matinette's Thibau Van den Haute got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jos Deuring in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Lucas Geijselinckx prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 61st minute, Jos Deuring ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lucas Geijselinckx was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. Lucas Geijselinckx made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jos Deuring in the 64th minute of play. After a rather tough play, SV Balverliefd's Carsten van Fessum got a free kick in the 66th minute. A collision led to SV Balverliefd getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Carsten van Fessum hit a great ball. Walter Verstuyft struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Ruud Windmuller didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Racing Matinette. Lucas Geijselinckx showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jos Deuring, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. Roland Ritsma hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Soren Hauwaerts received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Ruud Windmuller tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to SV Balverliefd getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Steve Verbeek hit a great ball. After 82 played minutes SV Balverliefd got a freekick which was hit by Huib Smit. If Simon Enfant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 84th match minute, Racing Matinette was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Harrie Van Den Eynden to maneuver through the defense. In the 90th minute Harrie Van Den Eynden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ruud Windmuller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Walter Verstuyft could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Ruud Windmuller made a huge save. The Racing Matinette players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
