Matthew Edwards showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Egídio Carioca in the 13th minute of the match. Egídio Carioca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ollie Bright in the 17th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Kasey Gobey made a precise shot to the right of Bernardo Brodel. Vingadores F.C U23's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a rather tough play, Vingadores F.C U23's Diogo de Sousa got a free kick in the 31st minute. Kasey Gobey hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Dom Mortlock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Egídio Carioca made a kick off. Egídio Carioca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Matthew Edwards tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Egídio Carioca in the 53rd minute of play forced Club Atlético de Newell's goalkeeper Matthew Edwards to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 55 minutes had been played when some careless play by Club Atlético de Newell's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Túlio Vidal was slow to take the kick. During this time Vingadores F.C U23's players had a chance to rest. Bernardo Brodel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Barnfield, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. In the 60th minute, Kris Delaney hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Vingadores F.C U23's Túlio Vidal tried to score from far away in the 61st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 64 minutes into the match, Vingadores F.C U23's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Barnfield came free, but Bernardo Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernardo Brodel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Barnfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Vingadores F.C U23 defense, Alfred Barnfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bernardo Brodel. The Vingadores F.C U23 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bernardo Brodel should have stopped the shot. Spike Lambley hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Walmir Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Walmir Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Bernardo Brodel made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. In the 88th match minute, Vingadores F.C U23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias Aparecido to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Egídio Carioca got free with Matthew Edwards in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 96 minutes into the match, Vingadores F.C U23's goal looked a bit too open when Ollie Bright came free, but Bernardo Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Club Atlético de Newell had played much better football throughout.
