But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Walmir Valle couldn't finish the play. Bernardo Brodel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nereo Bolivar in the 14th minute of play. Alexandro Paez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Egídio Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Vingadores F.C U23's Walmir Valle in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee ignored Vingadores F.C U23's protests and gave Túlio Vidal a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Mariachi FC booed when Vingadores F.C U23 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Túlio Vidal didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Júlio Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Eduard Bacarreza recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Bernardo Brodel. Eduard Bacarreza showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eduard Bacarreza was the one to do the kick off.
