In the 3rd minute, Victor Stayton hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Louie Théberge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rex Marler having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Fenerbahçe S.K.'s zone, Phil Roy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marin White came out of the goal and Phil Roy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Larry Strickland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Russell Davison might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marin White. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Russell Davison ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Fenerbahçe S.K. booed when Arrows Academy FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Russell Davison didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the game, Jermaine Preston was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Fenerbahçe S.K.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Arrows Academy FC the free kick. In the 21st match minute, Fenerbahçe S.K. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jermaine Preston to maneuver through the defense. If Phil Roy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arrows Academy FC's Rex Marler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jermaine Preston in the 35th minute of play. In the 36th minute, Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Jermaine Preston ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rex Marler. Rex Marler yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. If Phil Roy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marin White took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Russell Davison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 47 minutes into the match, Simon Roche notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Fenerbahçe S.K.'s Marin White. Marin White was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Russell Davison was the one to do the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Phil Roy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arrows Academy FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Phil Roy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marin White breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Phil Roy struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Marin White didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arrows Academy FC. Russell Davison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 66 minutes, Russell Davison managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Arrows Academy FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Russell Davison was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 70th match minute, Arrows Academy FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Russell Davison to maneuver through the defense. If Jermaine Preston had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Louie Théberge had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rex Marler. Arrows Academy FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Louie Théberge was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Russell Davison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marin White having to interfere. Russell Davison sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Russell Davison had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 94th minute, Arrows Academy FC's Simon Roche dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-2. Marin White made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Russell Davison in the 98th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Arrows Academy FC players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
