Ghost Hunters's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pastor Dunixi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. 27 minutes into the game, Deportivo Messina's Leandro Vasco nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Stig-Arne Biörnberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. After 29 minutes, Kjell Eliasson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ghost Hunters and the Deportivo Messina players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ghost Hunters getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Kjell Eliasson hit a great ball. Robin Borglin might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Enrique Rosalio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Robin Borglin ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience thought a goal was coming when Robin Borglin got free with Enrique Rosalio in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Stig-Arne Biörnberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Leandro Vasco, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Leandro Vasco made a kick off. Felipe Domingues could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Stig-Arne Biörnberg made a huge save. After 56 minutes, Mark Mickelsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ghost Hunters and the Deportivo Messina players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 56 played minutes Ghost Hunters got a freekick which was hit by Mark Mickelsson. 57 minutes into the match, Deportivo Messina's Omar Felipo broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Ghost Hunters's Stig-Arne Biörnberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 60th minute of the match, managed to save Ghost Hunters from getting a goal against them. Stig-Arne Biörnberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Vasco in the 63rd minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Ghost Hunters was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Danielsson to maneuver through the defense. Omar Felipo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 66th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Stig-Arne Biörnberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Leandro Vasco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. John Högström made in the 72nd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Bo Kleen. Ghost Hunters's Stig-Arne Biörnberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Ghost Hunters from getting a goal against them. Leandro Vasco took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Stig-Arne Biörnberg. In the 84th minute, Gabriel Donzel hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. John Högström hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Mark Mickelsson kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
