After 12 played minutes, Águilas Poblanas's Martin Ubarna shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Urbes Cenzano came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Águilas Poblanas reached it. Club Puerto Quito's Urbes Cenzano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiburcio Firman in the 15th minute of play. A collision led to Águilas Poblanas getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Carmelo Bilintx hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Llantada in the 20th minute of play forced Águilas Poblanas's goalkeeper Matias Eder to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urbes Cenzano made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Nemesio Serafo sent off a good shot on target. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tiburcio Firman to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tiburcio Firman in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Urbes Cenzano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Urbes Cenzano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Chayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Suscal Carmenes kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Urbes Cenzano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. In the 83rd match minute, Club Puerto Quito was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Suscal Carmenes to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute, Pepito Plasencia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute Tiburcio Firman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Urbes Cenzano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Llantada hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Águilas Poblanas's Matias Eder got control of the ball when Pepito Plasencia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carmelo Bilintx fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Urbes Cenzano having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
