ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's Alkaios Kalfopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dean Cheetham in the 11th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Mayo's Patrick Colman got a free kick in the 15th minute. After 16 played minutes, ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's Sotiris Moscholidis shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ben Alderson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ reached it. In the 18th minute, Johnathon Holt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Alkaios Kalfopoulos. The goal made the score 1-0. Alkaios Kalfopoulos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Den Lambert in the 21st minute. The supporters of ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ booed when Mayo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. David Medley didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mayo's zone, Aggelos Labrakis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ben Alderson came out of the goal and Aggelos Labrakis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dean Cheetham came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Mayo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Cheetham couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute Alexis Gelis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ben Alderson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Den Lambert took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alkaios Kalfopoulos. Alkaios Kalfopoulos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. The crowd rose to their feet as Dean Cheetham kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Alkaios Kalfopoulos. That made the score 3-0 in the 43 minute of play. When Dean Cheetham came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the Mayo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dean Cheetham couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. David Medley was the one to do the kick off. Alkaios Kalfopoulos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Den Lambert in the 52nd minute of play. In the 56th minute, David Medley left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mayo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's Alkaios Kalfopoulos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Den Lambert in the 60th minute of play. Dean Cheetham hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. Antonis Sapounopoulos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Ben Alderson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 68th minute, Dean Cheetham got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Mayo's David Medley in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ's goalie prevented a goal. After 71 played minutes ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑΚΟΣ ΜΙΛΑΝΟΥ got a freekick which was hit by Trifon Sferopoulos. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Den Lambert hit a great ball. Patrick Colman lost his temper 75 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 76th match minute, Mayo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patrick Colman to maneuver through the defense. Ben Alderson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Sotiris Moscholidis. When David Medley fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Mayo's protests and gave David Medley a yellow card for diving instead. Dean Cheetham received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Alkaios Kalfopoulos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. David Medley hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Mayo's Johnathon Holt got a free kick in the 85th minute. Ben Alderson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antonis Sapounopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. A collision led to Mayo getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. David Medley hit a great ball. Dean Cheetham blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alkaios Kalfopoulos having to make a save. Mayo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
