In the 8th minute Francisco Javier Echazarreta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diamantino Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dadá Britto charged in rather forcefully in the 10th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dadá Britto the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 10th match minute, Bucéfalo FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dadá Britto to maneuver through the defense. In the 12thth minute of the game Dante Gorostiaga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bucéfalo FC's Diamantino Ferreira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 15th minute, Pedro Luís Montenegro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 20 minutes into the game, SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's Dante Gorostiaga nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Diamantino Ferreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Bucéfalo FC's Diamantino Ferreira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francisco Javier Echazarreta in the 23rd minute of play. 24 minutes had been played when some careless play by Bucéfalo FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Trond Traband was slow to take the kick. During this time SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's players had a chance to rest. 25 minutes into the match, Bucéfalo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Francisco Javier Echazarreta came free, but Diamantino Ferreira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Dante Gorostiaga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diamantino Ferreira was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 29 minutes into the match, Francisco Javier Echazarreta had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Diamantino Ferreira. Bucéfalo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Francisco Javier Echazarreta was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. After having played for 32 minutes, Francisco Javier Echazarreta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Javier Echazarreta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's Francisco Javier Echazarreta in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bucéfalo FC's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Bucéfalo FC's Marquinhos Pitta got a free kick in the 35th minute. The SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. When the match had gone on for 42 minutes, Trond Traband put it in 0-5 from a short distance just to the right of Diamantino Ferreira. 46 minutes into the game, Mazinho Damião was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Bucéfalo FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT the free kick. After the first half SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 51 played minutes Bucéfalo FC got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Luís Montenegro. Dante Gorostiaga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 56th minute Mazinho Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Juan Jesus Heyboer saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Marquinhos Pitta fell near the penalty area in the 65th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bucéfalo FC's protests and gave Marquinhos Pitta a yellow card for diving instead. SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's Juan Manuel Fritz was substituted for Victor Hugo Marchena. When Francisco Javier Echazarreta came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Javier Echazarreta couldn't finish the play. When Fiore Austruy fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT's protests and gave Fiore Austruy a yellow card for diving instead. After 73 played minutes SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT got a freekick which was hit by Fiore Austruy. Diamantino Ferreira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dante Gorostiaga in the 76th minute of the match. Antônio Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. During the 91st minute of the match Marquinhos Pitta completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Marquinhos Pitta a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT booed when Bucéfalo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marquinhos Pitta didn't get a good kick on the ball. The SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SHOOT SPEED KILL LIGHT would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
