When Korneliusz Frankowski fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Zielonka Gdansk's protests and gave Korneliusz Frankowski a yellow card for diving instead. Korneliusz Frankowski hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Lyuben Vetov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tolek Makarewicz having to interfere. Preben Elkjær's late challenge caught a Zielonka Gdansk's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Preben Elkjær helped the player get up and apologised. Preben Elkjær hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. FC Grivata's Preben Elkjær pulled a muscle in his leg after 23 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 24 played minutes Zielonka Gdansk got a freekick which was hit by Olgierd Pasterski. 29 minutes into the match, Zielonka Gdansk's goalkeeper Tolek Makarewicz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lyuben Vetov. Olgierd Pasterski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 41 minutes into the match, FC Grivata's goal looked a bit too open when Maciej Zdrojowy came free, but Iliyan Gavrilov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tolek Makarewicz came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by FC Grivata's Lyuben Vetov. But to his dismay, Lyuben Vetov quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The wind increased when Olgierd Pasterski made the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmund Komornicki kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iliyan Gavrilov. That made the score 1-3 in the 65 minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Edmund Komornicki managed to get in a good position for a shot. Zielonka Gdansk's supporters rose to their feet, but Edmund Komornicki was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iliyan Gavrilov breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Iliyan Gavrilov stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Olgierd Pasterski's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. Iliyan Gavrilov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olgierd Pasterski in the 80th minute of play. If Olgierd Pasterski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Olgierd Pasterski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iliyan Gavrilov having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Wiktor Winszman was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Zielonka Gdansk's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Grivata the free kick. The supporters of FC Grivata booed when Zielonka Gdansk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiktor Winszman didn't get a good kick on the ball. The FC Grivata fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Zielonka Gdansk were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
