In the 11th play minute Charl Mesmaekers came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Diego Ruggieri. 1-0. In the 15th minute, Purple Talents's Brecht De Wortelaer seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Brecht De Wortelaer the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Purple Talents protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Brecht De Wortelaer had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 14 minutes into the game, one of Purple Talents:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. In the 17th minute there was a penalty for A.S. Trastevere. Attilio Bearzot stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Mattias Morreels. 1-1. Mattias Morreels had in the 24thth minute some difficulties stopping Attilio Bearzot's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Mattias Morreels didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Attilio Bearzot went, in the 24th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. A.S. Trastevere's Diego Ruggieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remco Van Der Elst in the 35th minute of play. Bart De Koq could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Diego Ruggieri made a huge save. Bart De Koq recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The wind increased when Remco Van Der Elst made the kick off in the second half. If Remco Van Der Elst had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Bart De Koq had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. Trastevere's goal looked a bit too open when Bart De Koq came free, but Diego Ruggieri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Flavio Di Battista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Morreels having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in A.S. Trastevere's zone, Charl Mesmaekers stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diego Ruggieri came out of the goal and Charl Mesmaekers tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 78 minutes into the game, Francesco Gazza was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. A.S. Trastevere's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Purple Talents the free kick. Mattias Morreels took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Di Battista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bart De Koq sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A.S. Trastevere's Diego Ruggieri played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charl Mesmaekers in the 93rd minute of play. In the 95thth minute of the game Flavio Di Battista who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Purple Talents's Mattias Morreels was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Frank Meazza hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
