Iosif Periandros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Åberg in the 16th minute of the match. In the 19th minute, Veniamin Manolas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stratos Christoulis in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Harald Mogren prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pontus Kåmark during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Pontus Kåmark hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Henrik Larsson in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Iosif Periandros saved Panionios MK from getting behind. Harald Mogren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thymios Sikalias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Henrik Larsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Iosif Periandros was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. Harald Mogren didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Telis Vazakas went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. 41 minutes into the match, Arsenal FC's goal looked a bit too open when Stratos Christoulis came free, but Harald Mogren reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Iosif Periandros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrik Larsson in the 47th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Henrik Larsson made a kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Panionios MK's goal looked a bit too open when Henrik Larsson came free, but Iosif Periandros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panionios MK's Veniamin Manolas got a free kick in the 56th minute. Henrik Larsson took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Iosif Periandros. Iosif Periandros dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Sokratis Polymerou blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Harald Mogren having to make a save. Henrik Larsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Iosif Periandros made a huge save. 73 minutes into the game, Panionios MK's Stratos Christoulis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Harald Mogren made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. 78 minutes into the match, Eddie Åberg had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iosif Periandros. Panionios MK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eddie Åberg was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. Christer Löv hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Stratos Christoulis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Harald Mogren saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henrik Larsson struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Iosif Periandros didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Arsenal FC. Iosif Periandros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Per-Åke Albäck, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Panionios MK's zone, Eddie Åberg stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iosif Periandros came out of the goal and Eddie Åberg tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 94th minute, Per-Åke Albäck made a precise shot to the right of Iosif Periandros. Panionios MK's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-3. Panionios MK succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Arsenal FC had controlled the match.
