The NUMBA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juan Perrando should have stopped the shot. After 25 minutes, Gilberto Seme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the NUMBA and the União Verde FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 25 played minutes NUMBA got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Seme. Juan Perrando showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vladimir Motta in the 26th minute of the match. After 34 played minutes União Verde FC got a freekick which was hit by Jorge Mendonça. Rafael Bela charged in rather forcefully in the 35th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rafael Bela the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of União Verde FC booed when NUMBA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Bela didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 41st minute of the match, Donato Gaztea tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bebeto de Salles saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After the first half União Verde FC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laércio Damião to make the kick off. Juan Perrando showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laércio Damião, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Juan Perrando made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Gilvan Pombal sent off a good shot on target. After 75 minutes, Laércio Damião made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. NUMBA's Juan Perrando tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Rafael Bela hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. 80 minutes into the match, Laércio Damião dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Juan Perrando, 0-4. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Cosme Ayala managed to get in a good position for a shot. NUMBA's supporters rose to their feet, but Cosme Ayala was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bebeto de Salles breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Juan Perrando made an important save on a dangerous shot by Laércio Damião in the 94th minute. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. União Verde FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
