The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Benito Corderun was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cementerio Club's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO the free kick. Saturnin Alabern, 5 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 7th minute Frodo Alabern shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Dimas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Luis Molina ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Marcelo Dimas was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After 13 minutes, Marcelo Gallardo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cementerio Club and the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 13th match minute, Cementerio Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marcelo Gallardo to maneuver through the defense. In the 17th minute, Luis Molina made a precise shot to the right of Marcelo Dimas. Cementerio Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. If Bonifacio Elodio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 35 played minutes ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO got a freekick which was hit by Frodo Alabern. Xorxe Soldado made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fidel Rico in the 37th minute. Mané Aguado kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Xorxe Soldado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nereo Feo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO booed when Cementerio Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Exequiel Palacios didn't get a good kick on the ball.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Fidel Rico made a kick off. In the 52nd minute Nicanor Araoz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xorxe Soldado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO defense, Fidel Rico kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xorxe Soldado. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xorxe Soldado should have stopped the shot. Xorxe Soldado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nicanor Araoz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO's Frodo Alabern dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-4. Fidel Rico hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Cementerio Club's Fabio Botello got a free kick in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Cementerio Club's zone, Saturnin Alabern stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcelo Dimas came out of the goal and Saturnin Alabern tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marcelo Dimas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Frodo Alabern in the 71st minute of the match. Luis Molina was extremely unlucky when he, in the 74th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO made a substitution. Rafa Llorca replaced Mané Aguado. The ClUb DePoRtIvO LUGO players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
