After a defensive mix-up in Monumento Sports's zone, Jaime Galoer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Moisés Antunes came out of the goal and Jaime Galoer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Moisés Antunes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Galoer went, in the 6th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Toninho Arruda struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Angelo Caitano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Monumento Sports. Pedrinho Neiva scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Angelo Caitano, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. If Jaime Galoer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Toninho Arruda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Monumento Sports's supporters crossed their fingers, but Toninho Arruda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Monumento Sports's Moisés Antunes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jonathan Berto in the 30th minute of play. When Pedrinho Neiva fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Monumento Sports's protests and gave Pedrinho Neiva a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Monumento Sports's Pedrinho Neiva got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 36th minute, Toninho Arruda got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A throw-in in the 42nd minute of the game was made by Pedro Paz with Jacinto Fagildo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. 44 minutes into the match, Toninho Arruda notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Nadie nos Para's Angelo Caitano. Angelo Caitano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Pedrinho Neiva to make the kick off. The Monumento Sports fans' excitement grew in the 52nd match minute when Monumento Sports's Toninho Arruda looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 55th minute Toninho Arruda shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Caitano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 57 minutes into the game, Toninho Arruda lined in a short shot 1-5 behind a frustrated Angelo Caitano. Nadie nos Para's Robustiano Laurendi was substituted for Patricio Gudesteo. Nadie nos Para's Vladimiro Reyes was substituted for Jaime Galoer. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Toninho Arruda took a quick shot and it went in 1-7 without a chance for Angelo Caitano to make any attempt to save it. When Toninho Arruda came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Monumento Sports fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toninho Arruda couldn't finish the play. Moisés Antunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Berto in the 92nd minute of the match. Moisés Antunes came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Nadie nos Para's Vladimiro Reyes. But to his dismay, Vladimiro Reyes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-7. The Monumento Sports supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Monumento Sports would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
