To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 30 minutes into the match, Golden Generation's goal looked a bit too open when Alvito Font came free, but Gilberto Gamus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leon Tobias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Gilberto Gamus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Alvito Font kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gilberto Gamus. That made the score 3-0 in the 40 minute of play. After having played for 43 minutes, Alvito Font managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. UE Cornella's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alvito Font was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ciriaco Cresencio hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Celso Gipuzkoa to make the kick off.
