The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Dragons AFC getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Leon Hotz hit a great ball. In the 9th match minute, ΠΑΟΚ FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Christos Banasas to maneuver through the defense. In the 10th minute of the match Florentino Isadore sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Makis Tselementes skillfully saved the ball. With his leg Silvano Berart managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when ΠΑΟΚ FC's Aris Voutsas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 15th minute, Florentino Isadore hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 22 minutes into the match, ΠΑΟΚ FC's goal looked a bit too open when Leon Hotz came free, but Makis Tselementes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vassilis Banasidis struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Silvano Berart didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ΠΑΟΚ FC. The crowd rose to their feet as ΠΑΟΚ FC's Petros Giannakis slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Silvano Berart. That made the score 1-0 after 30 minutes of play. Takis Saltamaras sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of ΠΑΟΚ FC booed when Dragons AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaston Neron didn't get a good kick on the ball. Makis Tselementes came out and tried to block the shot, but Marco Romildo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 71st minute. ΠΑΟΚ FC's Errikos Kalantzidis got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Takis Saltamaras recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Silvano Berart made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petros Giannakis in the 95th minute of play. ΠΑΟΚ FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
