Peñarol. 5 minutes into the game, Frédson Salgado cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Enzo Baracaldo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience was convinced that Silvério das Neves's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enzo Baracaldo was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Alfredo Madureira took the ball and in the 9 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enzo Baracaldo. Enzo Baracaldo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. C.A. Peñarol's Enzo Baracaldo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério das Neves in the 12th minute of play. In the 13th minute, William Cosme hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. William Cosme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enzo Baracaldo having to interfere. After 17 minutes of play, MDS Soccer Club's Frédson Salgado made it 0-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Enzo Baracaldo was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Darien Gutiérrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. C.A. Peñarol's supporters rose to their feet, but Darien Gutiérrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luiz Fernando da Mata breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Enzo Baracaldo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Silvério das Neves in the 29th minute of the match. William Cosme's late challenge caught a C.A. Peñarol's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. William Cosme helped the player get up and apologised. Silvério das Neves scored 0-5 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Enzo Baracaldo, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Darien Gutiérrez to strike the kick off in the second half. Luiz Fernando da Mata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Benavente in the 51st minute of play. When Alfredo Madureira fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored MDS Soccer Club's protests and gave Alfredo Madureira a yellow card for diving instead. Alfredo Madureira hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Silvério das Neves could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Enzo Baracaldo made a huge save. Luiz Fernando da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Benavente, who was totally free with the ball in the 56th minute. After a defensive mix-up in C.A. Peñarol's zone, Frédson Salgado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Baracaldo came out of the goal and Frédson Salgado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to C.A. Peñarol getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Faustino Magnani hit a great ball. If Samuel Benavente had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Darien Gutiérrez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luiz Fernando da Mata showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Benavente, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. The supporters of MDS Soccer Club booed when C.A. Peñarol was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Demetrio Aicardi didn't get a good kick on the ball. Silvério das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, C.A. Peñarol's goal looked a bit too open when Frédson Salgado came free, but Enzo Baracaldo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Darien Gutiérrez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
