Astros de México's defense didn't have a chance, in the 8th minute, when Dan Høines scored to the left of an out of position Candido Dantel, making the score, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siro Dimo in the 13th minute of play forced The Nerd Herd's goalkeeper Arnstein Øvereng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, The Nerd Herd's Christian Hinna got a free kick in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonatan Jurgi in the 17th minute of play forced The Nerd Herd's goalkeeper Arnstein Øvereng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Soter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnstein Øvereng having to interfere. The Nerd Herd's Arnstein Øvereng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Siro Dimo in the 24th minute of play. Arnstein Øvereng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquin Soter in the 29th minute of the match. The supporters of The Nerd Herd booed when Astros de México was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivan Libertad didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Glenn Skjønhaug fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Nerd Herd's protests and gave Glenn Skjønhaug a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in The Nerd Herd fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 34th minute. Penalty! If Jonatan Jurgi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dan Høiness short, quick shot in the 48thth minute got Candido Dantel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vebjørn Dyb stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Dan Høines shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Candido Dantel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vebjørn Dyb in the 54th minute of play forced Astros de México's goalkeeper Candido Dantel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Candido Dantel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vebjørn Dyb in the 55th minute of play. The Nerd Herd's Dan Høines got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Candido Dantel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vebjørn Dyb, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Glenn Skjønhaug was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 68 played minutes The Nerd Herd got a freekick which was hit by Glenn Skjønhaug. After a rather tough play, Astros de México's Ivan Libertad got a free kick in the 74th minute. A collision led to The Nerd Herd getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Christian Hinna hit a great ball. Jonatan Jurgi succeeded in the game's 81st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-2. Astros de México's Inocencio Mergildo was substituted for Tadeo Petri. Dan Høines took the ball and in the 86 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Candido Dantel. Candido Dantel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. After 89 played minutes The Nerd Herd got a freekick which was hit by Runar Molland. In the 98th match minute, Astros de México was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ivan Libertad to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew the final whistle, The Nerd Herd could leave the field as winners, despite Astros de México having more of the ball for most of the match.
