Eustaquio Vesga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermengildo Elorri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 3rd minute of play. After 4 played minutes AFC United got a freekick which was hit by Balesio Leiva. 6 minutes into the match, Quilmes's goalkeeper Hermengildo Elorri had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Pirro Pereta. If Hector-Luis Conllas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 13th minute Ekialde Balsera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hermengildo Elorri saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as AFC United's Ekialde Balsera slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hermengildo Elorri. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Hermengildo Elorri took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ekialde Balsera, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rdth minute of the game Eustaquio Vesga who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Quilmes's Hermengildo Elorri was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Flavio Lucila kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. A hard shot by Balesio Leiva from long distance, 25 minutes into the match, got Hermengildo Elorri's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Hermengildo Elorri made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Ekialde Balsera sent off a good shot on target. Ekialde Balsera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hermengildo Elorri read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 32nd minute of play. AFC United's Ekialde Balsera got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 40 minutes into the match, Quilmes's goal looked a bit too open when Ekialde Balsera came free, but Hermengildo Elorri reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 41 minutes, Balesio Leiva took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Hermengildo Elorri to make any attempt to save it. Ekialde Balsera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 45th minute of the match, but Hermengildo Elorri made a huge save. Gervasio Soter sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

Eustaquio Vesga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Elorri having to interfere. When AFC United's Ekialde Balsera in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Quilmes's goalie prevented a goal. In the 64th minute of the match AFC United got a corner. Quilmes's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Balesio Leiva ran over to the corner to take the kick. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Quilmes's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Balesio Leiva was slow to take the kick. During this time AFC United's players had a chance to rest. The corner led AFC United's Balesio Leiva to fire away a dangerous shot which Hermengildo Elorri despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Eustaquio Vesga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hermengildo Elorri having to interfere. When Roegelio Moyua came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the AFC United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Roegelio Moyua couldn't finish the play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ekialde Balsera in the 78th minute of play forced Quilmes's goalkeeper Hermengildo Elorri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of AFC United booed when Quilmes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Baldomiro Ariando didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ekialde Balsera blasted a shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hermengildo Elorri having to make a save. Hermengildo Elorri showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eustaquio Vesga in the 89th minute of the match. Eustaquio Vesga scored 3-0 in the 91st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hermengildo Elorri, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 95 minutes into the match, Eustaquio Vesga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hermengildo Elorri. Quilmes's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eustaquio Vesga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. AFC United had played much better football throughout.
