Facundo Nahas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Carmona having to interfere. Delmiro Iztal didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nicolau Poças went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. After 30 minutes, Flavio Ricart mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Atlético Escocia and the Bacardi Black Bats players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Club Atlético Escocia's Flavio Ricart got a free kick in the 30th minute. Delmiro Iztal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olavo Vasques in the 32nd minute of play. Luís Carmona showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Nahas, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. The supporters of Club Atlético Escocia booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolau Poças stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bacardi Black Bats's Virgílio Lisboa managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Baldomero Inocente in the 63 minute of the game. Olavo Vasques charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olavo Vasques the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 67th match minute, Bacardi Black Bats was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Olavo Vasques to maneuver through the defense. Aquiles Lazcano hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Aquiles Lazcano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Januário Madeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Club Atlético Escocia booed when Bacardi Black Bats was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Carmo didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicolau Poças during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The Bacardi Black Bats supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bacardi Black Bats would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
