Jay Gale started the match with the kick off. If Thomas Power had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brad Hudson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gregório Brochado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Angélico Borges sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jay Gale had several of the FC Beatriz 08's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Geraldo Poças as he didn't even see the shot coming. A collision led to FC Beatriz 08 getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Angélico Borges hit a great ball. Brad Hudson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mário Rodrigues in the 18th minute of play. 18 minutes into the game, one of Carlisle United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Thomas Power who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 27thth minute tested the skills of Geraldo Poças when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Gervásio Mourato came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the FC Beatriz 08 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gervásio Mourato couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Carlisle United's Marta Kante got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Carlisle United's Thomas Power got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brad Hudson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Radamel Falcao, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Jan Thomas kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, FC Beatriz 08's goal looked a bit too open when Jay Gale came free, but Geraldo Poças reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thomas Power came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Geraldo Poças could save by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Radamel Falcao to strike the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Thomas Power in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geraldo Poças saved FC Beatriz 08 from getting behind. After having played for 55 minutes, Thomas Power managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carlisle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thomas Power was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Jay Gale notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of FC Beatriz 08's Geraldo Poças. Geraldo Poças was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Thomas Power in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geraldo Poças prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlisle United's Thomas Power got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brad Hudson made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Gervásio Mourato sent off a good shot on target. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Thomas Power managed to get in a good position for a shot. Carlisle United's supporters rose to their feet, but Thomas Power was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Geraldo Poças breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 84 minutes, Thomas Power mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Carlisle United and the FC Beatriz 08 players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of FC Beatriz 08 booed when Carlisle United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thomas Power didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jay Gale succeeded in the game's 86th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 3-1. Jay Gale struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Geraldo Poças didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Carlisle United. Geraldo Poças made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thomas Power in the 91st minute of play. After 92 played minutes FC Beatriz 08 got a freekick which was hit by Mário Rodrigues. Gregório Brochado fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brad Hudson having to interfere. Carlisle United's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
