Spectators: 165 (Terracing: 124, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hermínio Silveira started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute, Maurício Bertassi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Guarei FC's João Francisco Costa got control of the ball when Frasier Ehrler tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Beltrame Grunewald fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hemmersbacher SV's protests and gave Beltrame Grunewald a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Hemmersbacher SV got a freekick which was hit by Beltrame Grunewald. Hemmersbacher SV's Maurice Buttliger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Bertassi in the 14th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Hemmersbacher SV's goal looked a bit too open when Jarbas Gaspar came free, but Maurice Buttliger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claude Massey got free with João Francisco Costa in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Fabrício Sabóia kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Maurice Buttliger didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hermínio Silveira went, in the 22nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. 25 minutes into the match, Hemmersbacher SV's Frasier Ehrler sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that João Francisco Costa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. João Francisco Costa was a little too slow when Claude Massey got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 31st minute. The score was now 1-1. 35 minutes into the match, Hemmersbacher SV's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Cavalcante came free, but Maurice Buttliger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 35 played minutes Hemmersbacher SV got a freekick which was hit by Rory Kirsch. 36 minutes into the match, Hemmersbacher SV's goal looked a bit too open when Hermínio Silveira came free, but Maurice Buttliger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Claude Massey to make the kick off. After 54 minutes, Ralph Abt mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Hemmersbacher SV and the Guarei FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 53rd minute, one of Hemmersbacher SV:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Hemmersbacher SV. After a defensive mix-up in Guarei FC's zone, Claude Massey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Francisco Costa came out of the goal and Claude Massey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Francisco Costa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jud Spieler, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. After 69 minutes of play, Hemmersbacher SV's Ulf Caniglia made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. João Francisco Costa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ulf Caniglia hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. João Francisco Costa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jud Spieler in the 82nd minute of play. With a little luck, Hemmersbacher SV's Maurice Buttliger got control of the ball when Alessandro Melo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hemmersbacher SV's Maurice Buttliger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 85th minute of the match, managed to save Hemmersbacher SV from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Hemmersbacher SV booed when Guarei FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Claude Massey came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Hemmersbacher SV fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Claude Massey couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Guarei FC getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Alessandro Melo hit a great ball. Jud Spieler sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hemmersbacher SV had won after a very even match.
