Silvano Benat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Siro Menendo in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of Hermosillo FC booed when CACYFA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guaberto Henric didn't get a good kick on the ball. CACYFA's Siro Menendo got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvano Benat made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martin Goi in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dionisio Jokin got free with Samuel Montrell in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 24 minutes of play, CACYFA's Martin Goi made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Silvano Benat was left in no man's land by his defense there! 26 minutes into the game, Siro Menendo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Silvano Benat was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Silvano Benat took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Martin Goi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Hermosillo FC's Dionisio Jokin got a free kick in the 31st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Siro Menendo in the 33rd minute of play forced Hermosillo FC's goalkeeper Silvano Benat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Siro Menendo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Silvano Benat was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-3. In the 42nd minute Siro Menendo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvano Benat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Toli to make the kick off. After 51 minutes, Cayetano Gaur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CACYFA and the Hermosillo FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Ivan Toli took the ball and in the 59 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Samuel Montrell. Samuel Montrell dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-3. After 65 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Hermosillo FC! After a rather tough play, Hermosillo FC's Victorio Dino got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute Martin Goi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvano Benat saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, CACYFA's Silvano Benat threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Siro Menendo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. With splendid footwork Siro Menendo arrived in front of goal to shoot 3-5 by the left pole in the game's 77th minute. Silvano Benat stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Siro Menendo's shot from short distance in the 85th minute. Samuel Montrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dionisio Jokin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 88th minute, CACYFA's Cayetano Gaur ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Silvano Benat. Silvano Benat yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-6. The CACYFA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing CACYFA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
