The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. A collision led to Floripa Lions FSCMZ getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Luciano Batista hit a great ball. Luciano Batista scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hortêncio Custódio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Hortêncio Custódio came out of the goal in the 9th minute to try and stop a shot by Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Luciano Batista. But to his dismay, Luciano Batista quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Raúl Guimarães took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hortêncio Custódio. Hortêncio Custódio dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. If Natã Rossi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Luciano Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hortêncio Custódio breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Hortêncio Custódio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raúl Guimarães, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luciano Batista in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hortêncio Custódio saved BEST FABIO F.C. from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luciano Batista in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hortêncio Custódio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. BEST FABIO F.C.'s Hortêncio Custódio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Natã Rossi in the 34th minute of play. If Ronaldão Salgado had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Floripa Lions FSCMZ fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Floripa Lions FSCMZ's Luciano Batista looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-5 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Raúl Guimarães fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Custódio having to interfere. Floripa Lions FSCMZ were furious when Thomás Gaspar was red carded, 47 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, BEST FABIO F.C.'s Evandro Cunha got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Evaristo Siqueira. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-6.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ronaldão Salgado stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Natã Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute, Luiz Guilherme Bertassi left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The BEST FABIO F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-6. Vânderson da Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Evaristo Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hortêncio Custódio made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natã Rossi in the 64th minute of play. Hortêncio Custódio showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Raúl Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Evaristo Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vânderson da Cunha in the 73rd minute of play. Natã Rossi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hortêncio Custódio having to interfere. After having played for 82 minutes, Natã Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Floripa Lions FSCMZ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Natã Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnaldo Cerezo in the 83rd minute of play forced Floripa Lions FSCMZ's goalkeeper Evaristo Siqueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, André Luís Capixaba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hélder Prestes kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Hortêncio Custódio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raúl Guimarães in the 95th minute of the match. When Hélder Prestes fell near the penalty area in the 97th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Floripa Lions FSCMZ's protests and gave Hélder Prestes a yellow card for diving instead. In the 97th match minute, Floripa Lions FSCMZ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hélder Prestes to maneuver through the defense.
