The crowd rose to their feet as TALLERES DE CBA's Claudio Sanchez slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Doriva Simão. That made the score 1-0 after 6 minutes of play. When Kléber Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Classe A Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. 12 minutes into the match, TALLERES DE CBA's goal looked a bit too open when Kléber Pernambucano came free, but Hugo Tavio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eugênio Peres in the 14th minute of play forced TALLERES DE CBA's goalkeeper Hugo Tavio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a little luck, Classe A Futebol Clube's Doriva Simão got control of the ball when Serafino Firme tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hugo Tavio didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kléber Pernambucano went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The supporters of TALLERES DE CBA booed when Classe A Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Netto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Váldson Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Emiliano Weather struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Doriva Simão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for TALLERES DE CBA. In the 43rd minute Claudio Sanchez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doriva Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Weather to make the kick off. When Abelardo Sá came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Classe A Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. Hugo Tavio made a fantastic save in the 62nd minute, when Abelardo Sá sent off a good shot on target. After 63 played minutes Classe A Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Carlinhos Faria. If Serafino Firme had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Kléber Pernambucano came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Classe A Futebol Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kléber Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. Doriva Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Claudio Sanchez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 74th minute Kléber Pernambucano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugo Tavio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Claudio Sanchez fell near the penalty area in the 77th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored TALLERES DE CBA's protests and gave Claudio Sanchez a yellow card for diving instead. Romeo Nafarroa's late challenge caught a Classe A Futebol Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Romeo Nafarroa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 85th match minute, TALLERES DE CBA was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Romeo Nafarroa to maneuver through the defense. TALLERES DE CBA's Hugo Tavio played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio Peres in the 92nd minute of play. If Váldson Mazza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Classe A Futebol Clube players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
