Valdo da Silva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Víctor Javier Waiben, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 10 minutes into the match, Remicio Vos de Vos notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Florão da América's Valdo da Silva. Valdo da Silva was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Valdo da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Daughters in the 13th minute of play. In the 17th match minute, AFC Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mariano Daughters to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the AFC Richmond defense, Tarcisio Loureiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Omar Pedraza. The AFC Richmond fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Omar Pedraza should have stopped the shot. In the 28th match minute, Florão da América was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luís Gustavo Salgado to maneuver through the defense. After 29 played minutes Florão da América got a freekick which was hit by Roberto Brasil. Edilberto Faesch struck a weak shot in the 30th minute. Valdo da Silva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AFC Richmond. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Christiano Barral during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 32nd minute, Christiano Barral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Remicio Vos de Vos took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Valdo da Silva. Valdo da Silva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. The supporters of Florão da América booed when AFC Richmond was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florentino Albano didn't get a good kick on the ball. AFC Richmond made a substitution. Eliazar Olivos replaced Mariano Daughters. After 48 played minutes AFC Richmond got a freekick which was hit by Florentino Albano. Nico Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 49th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

Severiano Sanabria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdo da Silva having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Remicio Vos de Vos in the 55th minute of play forced Florão da América's goalkeeper Valdo da Silva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, AFC Richmond's Domenico Macuer ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Valdo da Silva. Valdo da Silva yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Luís Gustavo Salgado was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 61 minutes into the match. In the 61st minute, one of Florão da América:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Florão da América. Edilberto Faesch placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! With a little luck, Florão da América's Valdo da Silva got control of the ball when Eliazar Olivos tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 67 minutes, Severiano Sanabria mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the AFC Richmond and the Florão da América players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 67th minute, Severiano Sanabria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Pedraza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Christiano Barral in the 68th minute of the match. In the 69th match minute, AFC Richmond was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Domenico Macuer to maneuver through the defense. Valdo da Silva was a little too slow when Eliazar Olivos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 72nd minute. The score was now 1-4. Valdo da Silva made a fantastic save in the 79th minute, when Eliazar Olivos sent off a good shot on target. After 83 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Florão da América! The referee gave AFC Richmond a penalty, 84 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Edilberto Faesch, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Florão da América's Valdo da Silva. 1-5. 92 minutes into the game, Severiano Sanabria recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Valdo da Silva. Severiano Sanabria showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-7. Valdo da Silva was a little too slow when Domenico Macuer got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 96th minute. The score was now 1-8.
