Jorge Hassan kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Wilson Aristegui came out of the goal in the 18th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente FC's Zé Carlos de Azevedo. But to his dismay, Zé Carlos de Azevedo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Independente FC's Nestor Quintal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Independente FC from getting a goal against them. Club Palestino فلسطين's Wilson Aristegui played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Carlos de Azevedo in the 37th minute of play. Club Palestino فلسطين's Vicente Barros got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Club Palestino فلسطين getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Higinio Malfanti hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Higinio Malfanti's late challenge caught a Independente FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The Independente FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Independente FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
