Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 17 minutes into the game, Flávio Meireles cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Tadeo Sesuldo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Paolo Tximitx received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bruno Branco came out and tried to block the shot, but Paolo Tximitx slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 22nd minute. 25 minutes into the match, Club A. After a rather tough play, Club A. Chipa y Tereré's Pablo Vachon got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Tadeo Sesuldo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Délio Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After the first half Blumenau Esporte Clube were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Erik Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Club A. Chipa y Tereré's Paulo Segio seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Paulo Segio the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Club A. Chipa y Tereré protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Paulo Segio had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Tadeo Sesuldo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erik Baptista in the 55th minute of play. The referee ignored Blumenau Esporte Clube's protests and gave Durvalino Leite a yellow card for diving instead. In a very dangerous position, a player in Blumenau Esporte Clube fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 84th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Club A. Chipa y Tereré a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Joaquin Gomesano, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Blumenau Esporte Clube's Bruno Branco. 3-5. Erik Baptista charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Erik Baptista the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Erik Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. Blumenau Esporte Clube's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
