The score was now 1-0. 12 minutes into the game, Emil Grelsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Dexiators's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA the free kick. A collision led to Dexiators getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Emil Grelsson hit a great ball. Emil Grelsson was shown his second yellow card after 13 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Avellaneda got free with Sven-Edvin Vedholm in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stig-Ove Holmgren in the 21st minute of play forced ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Salvador Incendio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 25 played minutes ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA got a freekick which was hit by Norberto Cristofor. In the 27th minute, Stig-Ove Holmgren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 37th match minute, Dexiators was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bo Fribäck to maneuver through the defense. Freddy Primo struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. Sven-Edvin Vedholm didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA. Sven-Edvin Vedholm made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Freddy Primo sent off a good shot on target. Oscar Palben recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Norberto Cristofor stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Dexiators booed when ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos-Mario Monclús didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sven-Edvin Vedholm took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Primo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Malte Lindmark charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Malte Lindmark the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Dexiators getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Malte Lindmark hit a great ball. In the 57th minute of the match Oscar Palben shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sven-Edvin Vedholm showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When the match had gone on for 59 minutes, Stig-Ove Holmgren took a quick shot and it went in 2-1 without a chance for Salvador Incendio to make any attempt to save it. After a rather tough play, Dexiators's Östen Igelström got a free kick in the 68th minute. Salvador Incendio showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stig-Ove Holmgren in the 76th minute of the match. 77 minutes into the match, Dexiators's Alfons Gallin sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salvador Incendio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, Zaid Romero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dexiators the free kick. In the 78th minute, Zaid Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 85 minutes into the match, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalkeeper Salvador Incendio had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bertil Rönn. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Stig-Ove Holmgren in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Salvador Incendio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Alfons Gallin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oscar Palben fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sven-Edvin Vedholm having to interfere. With a little luck, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's Salvador Incendio got control of the ball when Stig-Ove Holmgren tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle, ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA could leave the field as winners, despite Dexiators having more of the ball for most of the match.
