A collision led to Savon Palloseura getting a freekick after 3 minutes play. Tauno Kivimäki hit a great ball. SeleSantos FC's Adrianinho Catarinense suffered a concussion after 5 minutes and had to leave the field. SeleSantos FC made a substitution. Marcelinho Teles replaced Adrianinho Catarinense. In the 6th match minute, Savon Palloseura was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jan Kuokkanen to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Mané Sá from long distance, 7 minutes into the match, got Niilo Vähäsavo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Cléber Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot. SeleSantos FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Cléber Lima was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Niilo Vähäsavo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kaarle Väätäinen in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tales Siqueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Savon Palloseura's Heikki Niinimaa got a free kick in the 16th minute. After 22 played minutes SeleSantos FC got a freekick which was hit by Cléber Lima. Eurico Prestes hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. When Toivo Karhu came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Savon Palloseura fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Toivo Karhu couldn't finish the play. After 28 minutes, Toivo Karhu made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Wilian Cearense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wilian Cearense did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Niilo Vähäsavo 41 minutes into the match. Tales Siqueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tauno Kivimäki in the 46th minute of play. The SeleSantos FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Savon Palloseura were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Wilian Cearense was the one to do the kick off. Toivo Karhu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Tales Siqueira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 53 minutes into the match, Toivo Karhu notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of SeleSantos FC's Tales Siqueira. Tales Siqueira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 56 minutes into the match, Savon Palloseura's goal looked a bit too open when Abelardo de Moraes came free, but Niilo Vähäsavo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilian Cearense struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Niilo Vähäsavo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SeleSantos FC. If Cléber Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Niilo Vähäsavo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wilian Cearense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Wilian Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niilo Vähäsavo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Savon Palloseura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Toivo Karhu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niilo Vähäsavo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wilian Cearense in the 71st minute of the match. SeleSantos FC's Cléber Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Wilian Cearense made a precise shot to the right of Niilo Vähäsavo. Savon Palloseura's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-3. Toivo Karhu kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Abelardo de Moraes took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 78th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Niilo Vähäsavo. Savon Palloseura's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The supporters of SeleSantos FC booed when Savon Palloseura was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ilari Eskelinen didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 80th minute, Abelardo de Moraes sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Savon Palloseura's Niilo Vähäsavo didn't even have to move. In the 83rd minute Wilian Cearense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Niilo Vähäsavo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mané Sá hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. 90 minutes into the match, SeleSantos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kaarle Väätäinen came free, but Tales Siqueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With an all-out effort, Savon Palloseura's Tales Siqueira threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Kaarle Väätäinen, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Kaarle Väätäinen struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Tales Siqueira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Savon Palloseura. When the final whistle went the supporters of Savon Palloseura were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant SeleSantos FC side.
