In the 10th minute Erivaldo Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arturo Gordo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee ignored Breguete FC's protests and gave Juan Silveira a yellow card for diving instead. Endira Freire who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 55thth minute tested the skills of Júlio Soares when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Arturo Gordo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Leite, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Endira Freire could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Júlio Soares made a huge save. Breguete FC's Júlio Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Darien Gaitan in the 62nd minute of play. Breguete FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON the free kick. Júlio Soares was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Paolo Montero. The PEÑAROL ORO Y CARBON players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
