The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Vista Alegre FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Renato Dracena. When Teofilo Virila came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Tigre fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Teofilo Virila couldn't finish the play. Décio Neto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Oscar Rio in the 8th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Florentino Henric managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tigre's supporters rose to their feet, but Florentino Henric was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Décio Neto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Paulo Renato Dracena kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. In the 25thth minute of the game Genaro Nataniel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Vista Alegre FC's Décio Neto was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zé Carlos França kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Florentino Henric fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Décio Neto having to interfere. Décio Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Bittor in the 30th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Tigre's Florentino Henric got a free kick in the 36th minute. After having played for 40 minutes, Genaro Nataniel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tigre's supporters crossed their fingers, but Genaro Nataniel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goal looked a bit too open when Genaro Nataniel came free, but Décio Neto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 45th minute of the match, Ediberto Abraão tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rogelio Gaur saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Osvaldo Negri made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Vista Alegre FC's Hortêncio Senna got a free kick in the 51st minute. In the 58th minute, Diogo Bueno hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Dráuzio de Alcântara fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Vista Alegre FC's protests and gave Dráuzio de Alcântara a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Tigre booed when Vista Alegre FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráuzio de Alcântara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vista Alegre FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 79th minute, when Florentino Henric scored to the left of an out of position Décio Neto, making the score, 0-1. 82 minutes into the match, Vista Alegre FC's goalkeeper Décio Neto had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Teofilo Virila. Ediberto Abraão hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. In the 95th minute, Florentino Henric hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Vista Alegre FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Tigre were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
