This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Ionică Alb as he didn't even see the shot coming. Ionică Alb made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cătălin Octavian in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Carpathian Wolves's goalkeeper Ionică Alb had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cătălin Octavian. The Carpathian Wolves fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Carpathian Wolves's Nicu Enceanu looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Eusebiu Uncescu's late challenge caught a ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusebiu Uncescu helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of ASF BAIA MARE -MM- booed when Carpathian Wolves was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusebiu Uncescu didn't get a good kick on the ball. 24 minutes into the match, Carpathian Wolves's goal looked a bit too open when Cătălin Octavian came free, but Ionică Alb reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Lucrețiu Arotăriței dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. In the 31st minute, Cătălin Octavian made a precise shot to the right of Ionică Alb. Carpathian Wolves's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicu Enceanu in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nae Morar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ionică Alb made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cătălin Octavian in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute, Mădălin Bănățeanu reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ionică Alb. The goal made the score 4-1. Ionică Alb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lucrețiu Arotăriței, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute.

The wind increased when Valer Barbăroșie made the kick off in the second half. In the 81st minute, Cătălin Octavian left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The ASF BAIA MARE -MM- fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-1. 84 minutes into the game, ASF BAIA MARE -MM-'s Cătălin Octavian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ionică Alb made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. Carpathian Wolves's Ionică Alb played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucrețiu Arotăriței in the 87th minute of play.
