After 21 minutes, Gillis Van Achter mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the De Beverpatrouille and the BENA FK players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 21 played minutes De Beverpatrouille got a freekick which was hit by Gillis Van Achter. Garry Heijlen made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Östen Bennet in the 22nd minute of play. Richmond Roeckeloos's late challenge caught a BENA FK's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Richmond Roeckeloos helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of BENA FK booed when De Beverpatrouille was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Richmond Roeckeloos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Garry Heijlen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Östen Bennet in the 24th minute of the match. In the 25th minute Östen Bennet shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Garry Heijlen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Pål Klintæus got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the BENA FK defense, Bernd Castermans kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dan Forsman. The BENA FK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dan Forsman should have stopped the shot. The De Beverpatrouille support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
